Nexans Hellas celebrates 50 years of innovation and excellence in the energy sector
May 17, 2023Nexans Hellas celebrates its 50th anniversary. Since the foundation of Manuli Hellas Cables in 1973, the company has been playing a key role in the electrification of the country as well as Europe and beyond, including electrification projects in Europe, Middle East and Africa. With its world-renown expertise in cabling solutions for Building, Utilities and Renewables, Nexans Hellas’ cables can be found in some of the landmark projects in Greece and across the globe, such as the Athens Metro, the high-voltage Pallini-Ampelokipi interconnection, the Ellinikon infrastructure project as well as Victoria metro line in the UK, and Sere Wind farm in South Africa.
In addition to its contribution to the energy industry, Nexans Hellas has been committed to the communities in which it operates. Over the past decade, Nexans has invested in the opening of a new logistics center and the expansion of local production lines in Greece in order to better serve the local and international markets.
Aligned with the Group’s E3 ambition (Economy, Environment, Engagement), Nexans Hellas has been taking targeted actions in order to reduce its environmental impact by cutting down its energy consumption, replacing old equipment by more sustainable alternatives, and cooperating with local certified suppliers committed to conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.
For the past 2 years, the engagement rate of over 240 Nexans Hellas employees has been among the highest in the Group, according to the internal employee satisfaction survey, reflecting the teams’ engagement to contribute to electrification projects all over Greece and beyond.

1988 – Les Câbles de Lyon Group acquires Manuli Group
1990 – Manuli Group becomes Alcatel Cables Hellas and is listed on Athens Stock Exchange
2000 – Nexans Group is born as a result of cable activity spin-off from Alcatel
2017 – Investment in new production lines for medium-voltage cables
2019 – Investment in new production lines for fiber optic cables
2019 – Exit from Athens Stock Exchange
2021 – Opening of the new office and logistics center in Athens.
